Never Ending

This is my first attempt at a never ending card.  Is that the right name?  I made it for my daughter who turned 18 on Thursday.  How old did that make me feel?

This is what I call the front of the card, or position one.   I have used Bo bunny flocked card stock, silver cardstock, black outline stickers, black co-ordinations card stock and Kenny K Digis

This is position two.  I have used five different images and have used the same four colours for all of their outfits.

And this is position four.  I put a personal message on the top section for her.

Never ending cards are not hard to make, but I did find this one time consuming.  It is well worth the effort though :-)

Baby Girl

One of my friends is due to give birth to her daughter any day now so I thought I had better pull my finger out and make her card.

I wanted to keep the card quite simple and uncluttered, so I decided on a decoupage as the main focus and a twisted easel style to give it a more special feel.

  

 It feels like ages since I have done a decoupage.  It was quite therapeutic doing one today.

I love a little sparkle, so I have edged this one with clear iridescent glitter glue and added a few touches here and there to highlight the heart balloons.

I have used a very delicate pink pen to draw in faux stitching all the way around the base and front of the card and who can make a baby card without buttons.

Birthday wishes

I as digging through my scraps drawer when I came across two bits of HOTP papers that go really well together.  I didn't actually plan this card I just started playing and waited to see what would emerge.

I'm loving the flowers that I bought recently, so they are turning up on most of my projects :O).  I've used rose leaves and a lily leaf on this one.  I went a bit mad with the pearls, but I like the effect that I got on an earlier project with them, so I ran with it.  The swirly sentiment is one from a sheet of Kanban.  I couldn't resist the butterfly.

Feathered

Quick make time for me.

I love doing challenges.  They keep the creative juices flowing and the design team makes are amazing.  I really enjoy trying to work out how they did some if the things in their projects.

This card was first inspired by this weeks challenge over at Secret Crafters Saturday Challenge.   They asked for our feathered friends.  That gave me the perfect excuse to use my new feathers.  Paperplay Challenges weekly and CRAFT Challenge asked for Animals/critters galore, respectively so I used my new Pink petticoat stamps (I used my worn lipstick ink pad for this).

The colour scheme came from this weeks challenge at One Stop Craft Challenge who asked for monochrome.  Well my feathers are baby pink so I went with pink and white.  I have highlighted a few areas on the bird and created a border using some iridescent glitter glue and added a few gems for some added bling.

Mum in rosey brown

Vintage is on the cover of all of the crafting magazines at the mo.... At least that's what it feels like.  I love the look, but am still struggling with it.  One thing that I know I love doing is distressing and the two go hand in hand.

Paper Play Challenges asked us to do distressing  and Everybody Art asked us to use pink and brown so all I needed then was a design and there is a lovely one over at Papertake Weekly.

I have started with my usual white card blank ad covered the front in brown distressed card.  The pink panel is from a  HOTP paper pad I bought years ago and the image came from a free stamp that I got on a magazine this month.  I have only put mum on it, so it could be good for mothers day or a birthday.

I have used cream flowers which I gave a light tint of pink using worn lipstick distress inks and the centers are my new paper roses(my newest stash).

All Tied Down

I really enjoy making Christmas cards in non traditional colours. I find it more of a challenge as the papers can be harder to come by (limited craft shop availability when I usually start in June/July) and I have to think a little bit harder about what I am going to use as a focal point.


This one started life as an ordinary rectangular card blank which I die cut to get the shape. I have continued on with the same set of dies through out the card.

I'm not sure where I am going wrong, but whenever I use glitter glue, my page warps. This time I decided to use this to my advantage and have curved the edges a bit before applying the glue. As a result none of the coloured pieces lay flat which emphasises the textures that I have used.

I've raised the topper with foam pads to help to give the cards some depth.

Prezzie Time

I love making Christmas cards...... who am I kidding..... I just like making cards. I don't often buy toppers but I couldn't resist this one. It is one of six on a die cut sheet by Kaban. They are all really cute.

I really enjoy making Christmas cards in non-traditional colours, so no doubt there will be more of those from me soon. I still have another five images from this sheet to use up after all.

The papers I have used are all from my scraps drawer. I backed the topper onto silver mirri card to give it a bit more umphf and have glued gems on to the lace. I have die cut and layered the snowflake and added gems for extra sparkle. I do like the snowflake, but I think I will add a different colour to one of the layers next time I do one as this one didn't quite match up to what I had imagined.

Pearly Christmas

I'm so far behind on my Christmas crafting I don't know where to start. This is the card that I made today.

The image is printed on velum and is from a sheet that I bought last year. I've been good so far and have only spent a fiver on new Christmas Stash. I have promised myself that I will use up some of my old stash before I buy any more. I have used invisidots for vellum to attach the image to some cream textured card.

The pearls that I have use came from an old broken bracelet that I have been meaning to re thread for ages. The papers are from my scraps drawer. I have two of those to use up and they are quite deep. It is fun looking through them for my latest projects, but sometimes I get side tracked and end up making something else that was inspired by a piece of card or paper that I found.

Leaf Fairy

The Color Dare challenged us to use pink, green and black. I don't have many green papers, so choosing the one to use for this challenge was fairly easy. There is a lovely sketch over at Card Patterns, so my card is based on that. I bought a new border punch this week and this is the first time that I have used it. Might take a bit of practice to get it just right I think :0)

I love digi stamps. You can re size them to fit any project. I always print a few per sheet in different sizes so that I usually have something suitable for a project.

Stamp something asked us to put doodles on our design. Not something that I usually do, but I have tried my hand at some faux stitching. My Sakura glitter pens came out again for that added fairy shimmer.

Punky Pink

This week I was only allowed one crafty shopping trip and that was because I had run out of glue dots. In addition to the dots I bought 2 - yes only 2 - sheets of A4 card. I have a strict budget at the mo so I couldn't have the other items I wanted.

This morning, when I saw the spots and dots challenge over at One Stop Challenge, I had the perfect excuse to use the first sheet which is pink with white dots. I did a bit more blog hopping and noticed that Allsorts challenge this week is to use pink, black and white, so that just cemented the chose of papers to use.

I started a stair step in black textured card and then added a block of white glitter paper as a base. As I was cutting the two pink strips, I realised that the card that I had bought was double sided, so I used the flip side as a frame for the image.

I have layered pink crispy ribbon with Black dotty grosgrain (I think that is what it is called lol) and added peel offs, flowers and gems to finish it off. The design that I used for the center panel comes from this weeks challenge over at Friday Sketchers.

Pink on Pink

Friday Sketchers gave us a cute sketch to work with this week, but I couldn't decide which papers to use. In the end I went with the pink theme from this weeks challenge over at One stop craft Challenge. The idea to use ribbons and buttone on this card came from this weeks challenge over at Stamp something

With the exception on the dotty paper, I have had everything I used on this card in my stash for quite a while. I am trying to stick to one of the resolutions that I made this year - "Use up old stash before buying more". I do still buy the odd new piece of stash (well you can never have too much) but I am doing well with using up what I already have.

Fancy Bling

I love playing with acetate, but last summer I bought some printed acetate and didn't have a clue what to do with it so I stuck it in the back of a drawer.

This week at Dotties World they challenged us to use acetate, so I was determined to put one of the five sheets that I bought to good use. This is what happened!






This card was definitely a case of "Don't think, just do" and I think I surprised myself. Most of my card blanks are 5" by 7", but I wanted something bigger for this. The acetate is A4 so I folded it in half and put a pale blue card blank in the middle to show off the pattern on the acetate a bit better.

The flower was originally white, but I coloured the bottom bloom with Dusty Concord distress ink and added a black gem. I went over board with the sakura stardream pens for the glitter effect and blinged out with more stick on gems. I need to go in search of some more of the ribbon that I used as I am running out of it now.

I'm sorry about the glare on the pic, but I have no idea how to get a good night time photo of acetate. I work during the day and it's dark by the time I get home. I tried it without the flash and it looked way worse.

Delicate

This card was inspired by the It's all white card that I made a few days ago.

I have used a white card blank, additional white card, which I embossed, baby pink organza ribbon, stick on pearls, printed vellum, Anitas dimension butterfly, a silver rose (in the center of the prima flowers) and a couple of gems. I have edged the poem and the vellum with my silver Krylon pen to make them pop a bit more.

I am going to enter this card for the challenge over at My time to craft who asked us to use roses in our project. I hope my tiny rose counts.

Love you Mum

My mum is the best person in the world that I know. I'm already thinking about what to make her for her mothers day prezzie and what to put on her card.

Mothers day is still two months away in the UK, but I have to start making cards now, if I am going to have enough ready for the girls at work.

I did a bit of naughty shopping last week and bought new charms, some ribbon and 5 different sheets of Lace card stock by KI Memories. The one I used on this card is called Hearts Graphite.


This weeks challenge over at Cute card Thursday is to use the colours pink and grey. Creative inspirations asked us to use something new so I immediately reached for my lace card stock.I realised after I had stuck down the verse, that I should have had the ribbon running from top to bottom along the left hand side, but it was too late by then. I think I am going to buy a few more sheets of this lace card stock as it will be great for engagement, wedding and anniversary cards.

Tree of love

I'm still making Christmas cards to give to family and friends. This one is for my aunt.

My mojo has taken a vacation to warmer climes without letting me know, so I have been blog hopping for inspiration. On my travels I came across a blog called Whiff of Joy Tutorials and Inspiration There are so many great ideas to look at on there.

The pink text paper came from a HOTP paper pack that I bought years and years ago. The chocolate shiny paper was bought around the same time. The chocolate ribbon I bought earlier this year on a ribbon buying binge and the snowflake (originally silver, but coloured with a Krylon pen) is an Anitas dimention sticker which I bought in September. I have added dots of glitter glue all over the image to represent snow.

I really hope she likes it. Took me ages as it was my first time doing this type of card. The ones I have seen made by other people are gorgeous.

Simon says..... use charms

And so I did. I love charms on paper crafting projects, so it is really no hardship to use them when asked in a challenge.

I took two pictures so that you could see the card open and closed. This is my last card for today and it is for the Simon Says challenge.

Small sweets

I love the image I have used on this card. I think it is so versatile and sweet.

I tend to stay away from stripey paper as I am always scared that the card will look to cluttered. The image I have used is not too complex, so I think I got away with it. I love Gorjuss girl stamps and this one has probably had the most use out of all of the ones that I own.

Dotty Fairy

I've had a long busy day, but I had to play with paper before bed.

SFOS challenged us to make a card that was brown with either pink or blue as the second colour. As you can see..... I chose pink. I've embossed some metallic brown car that I have had for years. (I was clearing out when I found it again and ended up playing instead). the pink dotty paper is from my scrap box and the ribbon, gems where part of a naughty buy a month or so ago.

The actual design of the card has come from MAWTT who gave us a lovely sketch to work with.

Happy birthday to me!!

Actually, my birthday was in October. I promised myself a camera for my present to myself this year and I only got round to buying it yesterday. Up until now, I have been using the camera that I bought for my son a few years ago. (I really must buy him a new one).






I call this one Birthday Bath :-). Just us Girls asked us to make a birthday card that included dry embossing. I'm never one to leave my embossing folders gathering dust, so I made this. Purple is my favourite colour, so I started with a purple card blank and the rest just happened.

I have started playing with jump rings and have used three to attach my teddy bear charm. The ribbon is white velvet and the papers are from my scrap box. I have used a silver rose charm for the centre of my flower.



Just us Girls is still a young blog challenge site. They are only on week seven. It's always good to get in on the ground floor (so to speak) of a blog and watch it grow.

Elfin Pink

I've had a number of commission cards to make over the last few weeks and I have been using the challenges as inspiration.

As well as my ever present glitter glue, all of the papers that I used came from Papermania's "Naughty and Nice Christmas" and the elf decoupage is a Toread from Readdy Crafts. I made this card using the sketch from this weeks challenge over at Friday Sketchers.
