Plain and simple

Purple and silver is my favourite colour combination so being asked to make a card in that colour combination is no hardship.  I started off by embossing a pale lilac card blank with a Christmas tree design.  I then picked out the snowflake design in the centre with a silver pen and some gems.

The card didn't feel like it had enough on it so I used part of the recipe list on Moving Along With the Times to add glitter and a snowflake button.  I don't think that I am really cut out for minimalist cards as I keep thinking that I haven't done enough.  I reall like this one though.

This card will be entered for the following challenges:

Allsorts - Plain and Simple
Moving Along With the Times - To do list
SCSC - Purple and silver
One Stop Craft Challenge - Snowflakes

Sorry about the photo

Heart of Xmas

This is my entry for this weeks PBSC. This weeks challenge is called "Hearts Desire" We had to use a heart somewhere in our design as well as a Penny Black image or sentiment.
I have used three different shaped nesties on this one. There are two making the pocket (you can fit a gift card in there) and the third nestie die cut was embossed using a Cuttlebug folder and then brushed with lavender pearlescnt ink.
The Snowflake brads are from Dovecraft and the papers are from DCWV. I bought the snowflake charm on eBay and there are clear gems for an added bit of glitter. Speaking of glitter.... the pocket is edged with a pink Sakura stardust pen and I have used an aqua pen with the same stardust pen to colour the heart.

Christmas Cards already

This is my challenge to myself. I thought it was time that I started making Christmas cards and since I just received my Spellbinders Snowflake Poseabilities, I just had to have a play.
The snowflakes were die cut from starburst silver mirror card (which I found out can be hard to photograph lol).
The layout of the card was inspired by the challenge sketch over at Pollycraft Monday challenge. I originally made this card for their challenge and then realised that I had forgotten that the theme was food and drink lol. I'll have to make another card now.
