Ditressed Gold

Another Mothers day card. I wanted a distressed look for this one. Nothing too clean cut, but still with (I hope) a touch of elegance.

I have used cream ribbed writing paper as my backing paper. I have coloured the poem using distress inks (antique linen and aged mahogany) to try to get a colour that is like rose petals and matted it onto dark red textured card.

The gold ribbon is from the wrapping of a Christmas present I received and I have added a gold heart charm and a gold gem at the top.

I used the Krylon 18KT Gold leaf pen to distress the edges. I hope I didn't over do it lol. I am entering this card for this months challenge over at Bizzy Becs

Dotty 'bout yellow

I love striking colours on a card so I was really happy to make this one for the Cute card Thursday challenge, which was to use the colours "Black and Yellow". Paperplay Challenge asked us to make something spotty and the rest was easy.

The yellow that I used is actually really vibrant and the charm says "Made with love". I'm into manga stamps at the moment so they will be showing up for a while yet on my cards I think.

Got an idea for another card, so bye for now.

Pink Ice

Stamp something asked us to make something using our favourite stamp and either die cuts or punches. They asked us on Friday and I only just came to a decision about which stamp to use. In the end I opted for one of my new manga style digi stamps.

I have used two different shaped nesties on this one. and all of them have been edges with sakura stardust pens for a glittery effect. Her wings have also been done with the same pens using an aqua brush for a touch of translucence.

I hope that no one does a challenge asking me to use my favourite nestie or I really will be stuck!!

Swirly Goth

This card was created using the sketch from Friday Sketchers. I have rotated the sketch to accommodate the nesties that I wanted to use.

This is the second card that I have made this week using my Sugar Nellie stamp. For some reason she keeps making me think Goth.

I' loving my cuttlebug embossing folders at the moment, especially since I learned how to ink them so that the embossing shows up more. I'm loving the brushed metal effect that I am getting with the metallic inks, so you will probably see a few more from me like it for a while.

I like the challenge sketch that I used for this one because of its simplicity. There is just so much that you can do with it.

Polly Cat

I couldn't resist making another challenge card today. It fells a bit decadent as I would usually be at work at this time.

Sketch and Stash gave us a sketch to work with and Pollycraft challenge asked us to make a card with a furry animal on it.

The image that I have used is from Pollycrafts Cherry Kisses range and the papers were free with a crafting magazine. I love lace on cards so I had a bit of a dig around in my stash to see what looked good. The theme is almost monotone with splashes of pink to warm it up. I have edged the whole card in black in using an ink pad to finish it off. I'm wishing that I had done the same with the dotty panel too, but ho hum. Too late now lol.
Enjoy the rest of the bank holiday everyone.

Pink Chocolate

This is my last card for the weekend. It is for a challenge over at SSC. We were given a sketch to follow and the challenge was to use some of your latest stash.
The newest addition to my stash was the tree digi stamp which was on a free CD on a magazine. I wish my picture was better so that you could see the details. The pink leaves on the tree are all pink hearts.
I've used lots of chocolaty stuff on this one, including a gorgeous chocolate double satin ribbon.
The paper at the bottom is from Daisy and Dandelion and the one at the top is from HOTP. I edged the white flowers with pink using a whispers brush pen to keep it in with the theme.
This is a late entry as they do a new challenge every other Monday and a new one is due tomorrow.

Chocolate Pennies

My first card for the weekend is a challenge card for PBSC challenge 62. The challenge was to use the colours cream, tan and blue. My biggest problem with this card was which stamp to use. My collection of Penny Black stamps is growing faster than I use them and I just bought another today oops.

The background is Cinnamon coloured textured card. Both of the patterned papers are from Daisy and Dandelion Picnic Patch collection.

I cut the background for the flowers using a Cuttlebug die. The ribbons I used are cream and chocolate and the brads are chocolate brown.

Lemon and Sage

I have a list of things that I plan to learn how to do at some point in the future and tri-fold cards have been on the list for a while. One of the ladies over at CBC recently started a thread talking about them and I just had to have a go. This is my first attempt.

I have made it for the PBSC challenge 60 - Summer. I have just discovered Anitas dimensional stickers, so I just had to give those a go. They are a lovely addition to a card.

I used lemon and sage coloured textured card which has a nice sheen to it.

Dotty about PBSC

My mojo finally came back from its hols. It feels like so long since I made anything. I am so glad it is back.

This card is for challenge 55 on PBSC. We where given a lovely sketch to follow and this is what I came up with. Gave me a chance to play with my Nesties :0)
