Pearl Tea

I just had to have a go at the challenge over at Allsorts this week.  Use three or more stamps.  It wasn't as hard as I thought it was going to be and it was great for a quick make.

The three flourish stamps came from the same set ( sorry I don't know the name any more) and the happy birthday from a Daisy and Dandelion set that I have.

All of the stamping  and edging has been done in Tea Dye Distress ink.  I have also coloured a couple of the roses with it to get them to match the rest o f the card.  Yes, Ive gone with the flowers again (just couldn't resist - love 'em.  I have added some mocha flat back pearls for added interest.

Box of Roses

This is my second attempt at one of these trinket boxes.  I have to admit that I have been looking for more in other shapes, because they are so satisfying to make.  Here are a couple of  before shots.

I stared buy DS taping the natural cotton lace around the top edge and then I used my hot glue gun sparingly around the top so that the top of the lace would create a nice soft edge and cover the wood a little.

I wanted some height in the middle, so I have padded the top with a bit of make up sponge and then  I went a little crazy with the flowers.  I have used the last of the pearl beads from my broken bracelet on this one (I have a feeling that another one may get broken soon) and have dotted them about to cover the gaps between flowers.

To finish off, I added some deep purple lace that I have had forever and lilac flat backed pearls.   I think that I need to invest in some glimmer mist as I think that a bit of a gold sheen would have finished this one off nicely.

I am entering my box in the following challenges:

Charisma Cardz Challenges - No cards allowed
Papertake Weekly - Anything goes - My pearls are round
Craft your passion - Anything goes
Fab n Funky - Put those papers away - No patterned papers

Birthday wishes

I as digging through my scraps drawer when I came across two bits of HOTP papers that go really well together.  I didn't actually plan this card I just started playing and waited to see what would emerge.

I'm loving the flowers that I bought recently, so they are turning up on most of my projects :O).  I've used rose leaves and a lily leaf on this one.  I went a bit mad with the pearls, but I like the effect that I got on an earlier project with them, so I ran with it.  The swirly sentiment is one from a sheet of Kanban.  I couldn't resist the butterfly.

I am entering this card for the following challenges:

The Crafty Pad - Pearls and swirls
Simon Says - Anything goes
MAWTT - Anything goes

Heart of my rose

I went shopping this week and found some wooden, paint you own heart shaped boxes.  First thing I did was throw everything away except for the heart shaped box.

The pink paper I used is from HOTP and I have had it for years.  I have distressed the edges a bit with an emery board and my Tim Holtz paper distresser. The bow is made from crispy lace and then I added loads of roses and chrysanths.  The ivory flowers have been slightly tinted using tattered rose and worn lip stick distress inks and I have frosted all of the roses by lightly brushing them with ivory pearlescent ink and dusting with iridescent embossing powder.  I finished off with some glitter glue for a bit of added sparkle. (That seems to be happening a lot lately).

The large pearls came from a broken bracelet and I have added loads of mini pearls (flat backed) to finish.

I have added lace and ribbon to decorate the sides plus a single bow for detail.

I am entering my heart shaped box for the following challenges and then I am off out to buy more boxes :o)
