Pocket full of love

Just wanted to show this one off. It is far from perfect, but I love the concept and already have plans for adapting it and improving it. I really need to either get my printer working or get another one so that I can get on with the new and improved version.

Surprise

I made this card in answer to the challenge on the Dewdropcrafz blog. The challenge was to use the colours blue and green. I have used blue and green vellum layers on my card and coloured the image using Sakura Gelly roll Stardust pens for that added glitter effect (You can't really see it in this picture).

It was nice to make a male card for a change.

Inspired

About a month ago I discovered create and craft TV. After a lot of thought I joined the club and yesterday, after suffering a major case of crafters block, I finally got around to looking at the projects.

End result was a lovely card. (well I think so). It is nothing like the card that they showed me how to make, but it did spark off the idea.

I started by chalking the inside of a square white card with purple chalk and then, after cutting the front of the card in half diagonally, I chalked the front of the card with pale mint chalk.

I used a Fabre-Castle permanent marker, which I have had for years, to colour two silver butterfly peel offs and then assembled the card using silver and purple metallic card and foam pads.

My photos don't do the card justice, hence all of the explanation about the colours.

Found my mojo.... I think

I've had a major case of crafters block today. I have a child free weekend and had loads of plans on how I was going to spend it. Unfortunately everything I made has only been fit for the bin.

Finally, I have made one thing that worked. Kinda :-S

It's not quite what I planned, but it has worked better than anything else I made today.

I think I was trying too hard.
Oh well.... tomorrow is another day.

Early work

I was going through my album and remembered how much I love scrapbooking. These are some of my early favourites.
The first two are of my youngest son (14 hours old) and his when we came home from the hospital. I did the journaling on the back of the jumbo tag that I put in the vellum pocket.

This one is a lay out I did of my eldest son.
This is a layout I did of my daughter between the ages of a few hours old and four years old.
It all seems so long ago.

Sweet sixteen

My daughter turns 16 in september so I have started making a 12"x12" gift album for her. These are the first two pages that I have put together.

It has been a long time since I last did a layout and I am very pleased with the citrus on black LO. Pity my camera and photography skills are not up to scratch.

Sneaky makes

What' sneaky? I made these with my youngest running around and normally I don't craft until after he has gone to sleep.

The first was made using K & Co. Glitter stickers and the second was made using my newest stamp (keep buying them now and I haven't used most of them (woops).

I haven't made an acetate card in years, so I enjoyed making this one.

Me time

Four days with no work.... YAY. Woo hoo. I celebrated by making more cards.

I have finally had to admit that I have to spend money on a new camera instead of crafting stuff. This one doesn't take very sharp images, so a lot of detail is being lost.

Speaking of spending money. I have always wanted to try embossing, so today I bought a heat gun and a tub of embossing powder. No doubt I will be showing off my efforts later. (Crosses fingers and hopes she wont burn anything useful by accident.) I started stamping last month and after a bit of messing around, I think I am starting to get the hang of it.

This is turning into a bit of a ramble.... been a week since my last blogg and the old cogs have been turning on what I should put in my next one. Came up with loads lol.

Any way.... here are yesterdays cards. There would have been more, but I have to wait till my three year old is in bed to do any crafting.

Hope you like them.

I love a bargain

I love to shop and nothing is better than getting a bargain. I went to poundland today and they had some gorgeous purple blooms. I wouldn't put them in a vase but they are great for card making.

There are nearly a dozen on the "twig" for just a pound. They are quite large and usually I would have to pay quite a bit to buy similar sized ones from a craft shop.

Once you have pulled the blooms a part you end up with something like this. The colour isn't as vibrant in these pictures, but I think that they work really well for the price.

And this is the first card I made using the blooms in response to a challenge on the crafts by carolyn forum http://craftsbycarolyn.co.uk/

Frustrated

I bought the latest copy of Simply cards and paper craft today. You get some gorgeous free papers with it. Why am I frustrated? I can't work out who designed the papers and I need more. I have loads of ideas for what to do with what I have, but as it is all double sided, I will only be able to make half of the ideas that I have.

Does any one out there in crafting land know who might of designed them??

I need more......
