Cream Cake

SCSC challenged us to make a card or project using old stash.  Well that was easy as I have loads.  The main design paper I have used came from a scrapbooking kit I bough about five and a half years ago.  I only recently found out that it is good for vintage cards (still getting to grips with those).

I have had to use different bits for this card as I didn't have enough to do everything I had planned.  The design for this card came from this weeks challenge sketch over at Everybody Art.

Moving along with the times asked us to include a cake and that helped me to choose which stamp to use and One Stop Craft Challenge asked us to make a birthday card.  I find challenges are a great way to get inspiration for new cards and I think this just proves it :o)

I didn't have flowers in the colours that  I wanted, so I have inked a few of the smaller ones with Tea Dye Distress ink and all of the flowers have had a little bit of gold glitter glue added.  I have also added iridescent glitter glue to the icing on the cake.

Pearly Christmas

I'm so far behind on my Christmas crafting I don't know where to start. This is the card that I made today.

The image is printed on velum and is from a sheet that I bought last year. I've been good so far and have only spent a fiver on new Christmas Stash. I have promised myself that I will use up some of my old stash before I buy any more. I have used invisidots for vellum to attach the image to some cream textured card.

The pearls that I have use came from an old broken bracelet that I have been meaning to re thread for ages. The papers are from my scraps drawer. I have two of those to use up and they are quite deep. It is fun looking through them for my latest projects, but sometimes I get side tracked and end up making something else that was inspired by a piece of card or paper that I found.

Ivory Mum

I'm working on mothers day cards at the moment and the challenge over at Dotties World inspired the colour choice of this card. We could only use white, cream and the lightest of browns.

I have used Ivory Bazzil card to give the main colour. I also used some pale gold card for matting. To this I added some printed vellum, stick on gems, crispy ribbon, a mothers day poem and a couple of fabric flowers. I edged the poem, fabric flowers and image with aged mahogany distress ink.

I seem to have a thing about easel cards recently. I must go and see if I can find any tutorials for other card folds.

Ditressed Gold

Another Mothers day card. I wanted a distressed look for this one. Nothing too clean cut, but still with (I hope) a touch of elegance.

I have used cream ribbed writing paper as my backing paper. I have coloured the poem using distress inks (antique linen and aged mahogany) to try to get a colour that is like rose petals and matted it onto dark red textured card.

The gold ribbon is from the wrapping of a Christmas present I received and I have added a gold heart charm and a gold gem at the top.

I used the Krylon 18KT Gold leaf pen to distress the edges. I hope I didn't over do it lol. I am entering this card for this months challenge over at Bizzy Becs

Red Gold and Cream

I'm so proud of this card, I had to show it off. I made it in response to a challenge over at My Time to Craft. We were given a sketch to follow and having recently bought the Daisy and Dandelion "A winters tale" as part of a goody bag, I knew exactly what I was going to do.

Photography isn't my strong point, so I wasn't able to show the finer details such as the sentiment (which says "Merry Christmas") or the detailing of the decoupage. I have covered the whole of the outside of the card in the deep red paper covered in snowflakes. I might have a go at doing something inside the card as well later.

The ribbon is cream and gold and is from LLB. I've had the flowers for ages so I don't know who made them. I did edge them in gold pen to match in with some of the other elements that I had edged.
